Hi Bob,

Do you want to help with the planning of the April 6th event in Alpine. Also, we have more flyers and yard signs, and need to get them out everywhere. Let me know what you can do. Thanks! Laura (SaveElCap@yahoo.com)

Volunteer Needed to research El Cajon Mountain

The powerlink route is slated to go right in front of El Cajon Mountain. There are significant mitigation requirements that need to be followed to comply with the BLM record of decision. We therefore want to be a watchdog to make sure those matters are discovered, since we believe SDG&E will not do a very sincere job to discover these facts.

We need a volunteer to go the the Natural History Museum to do this research, especially of any tribal ancestral connections or symbolism. We believe that the valley and mountain has historical significance & believe very likely historical significance to California tribes & their ancestors.

Per Jane Kenealy of the San Diego Natural History museum, they have some material related to El Cajon Mountain, but we would need to visit the library to see if it is relevant to our requirements.

They are open to the public, Wednesday though Saturday from 9:30 -1pm. Admission is free to San Diego Historical Society members, or $6 for non-members

    Regards

    Jane
