This project has been described as the most damaging project ever proposed in our nation’s history. For East County, this project will have irreversible and severe impacts. These include, but not limited to:
- Unmitigatable Class I Fire Threat with unacceptable known risks
- Known Mortality of Golden Eagles
- Desecration of Native American culturally significant landscapes
- Desecration of a Significant Community Landmark
- Loss of a Designated Scenic Area Forever
- Financial devastation for businesses and property owners
- Cancer, Leukemia, Brain Tumors and more
- Severe environmental impacts
